>>>> Does anyone on the list have a full blown SE case? Anneliese has several now in her few remaining horses, and the incidence of SE in her imported herd was 60%. She's one of the few people who have had dozens of imports and at least as many domestic-borns in a known SE area. I believe she would qualify as one of the country's most experienced on the subject. Renee Martin is off the list for a while, but she finally sent her Rose to California to get her some relief. I'm praying that Loftur's case won't be TOO bad. I thought I was pretty safe in buying an imported horse who'd been in Florida for five years before I brought him to NC, but maybe not. I'm sure there are others too. I think most of us in NC have domestic-borns - Loftur is my only import. I know Renee Smith is very proactive with her imports, stalling them during key times, with a fly misting system I believe.
