>>>> I'm trying it! I bought a pair of waterproof Ariat Terrains but they
are too big so have to wear my thin-soled boots till I can do an exchange.
I'm double-socked now and it's not helping...where's that cayenne!

Don't' just buy the waterproof Terrains - get the insulated AND waterproof
boots. I think the ones I have are the Ariat Extremes. I'm not sure - they
have Thinsulate lining. I don't have a problem with my feet being cold -
mostly my face. BTW, I think most of the Ariat leather boots are
water-RESISTANT, not really water-proof. In other words, a quick run
through the mud is ok, but don't stand in a puddle and expect your feet to
stay dry! They do make some rubber-boots that are water-proof and insulated
that are pretty good.
