circles.

Then perhaps your horses were taught to lunge at some earlier point in their
training? Honestly, many times it's easier to teach than to re-teach.
Tivar obviously had the "on a treadmill" mentality about lunging, and he
thought he had to turn into a zombie and trot in circles for who knows how
long. I wanted to be able to see him move when there was no one around but
me sometimes, so I needed for him to do some sort of circling, but it broke
my heart to see him zone-out. I wanted him "with me", not an unwilling,
mindless participant. That's why I prefer to think "circling game" rather
than "lunging" although the two are obviously similar in nature. If the
horse has a treadmill-mentality about lunging, that can take a little
re-thinking to overcome...but you're a creative person!

does the 7 games with a horse that has never done any games.

Yep, the totally untrained or unexposed ones are often (usually?) easier
than the ones who've already gotten a particular mindset...but stick with
it - I've never seen it take more than two days! ;)
