$1000 for a saddle seems pretty reasonable to me, too! I bought my first saddle 10 years ago this month. It was a brand new Dover Hunter saddle. I paid $770 for it, and it was a demo saddle. With my fittings and shipping it was $1009. ;) Now we've since moved on to Reactor Panels and saddles built by the Queen of England's Saddler (Custom Saddlery)... $1000 is almost cheap!
