I haven't had a problem with the girth. This one is "roper" style, I think, wider in the middle. I just ordered a new breed cinch from country supply. You can't see in the picture, but there is a rear ring that I can use for "y" rigging. I obviously didn't have it Y-rigged that day. I have a friend that is really into barrel racing and she wanted me to go with her to the shows. The rules say that you have to use a western or stock so I bought one. However, I was never comfortable in a western saddle until I bought this one - it fits my behind! The saddle that I normally use on him is Icelandic. It fits him, but I hate the knee rolls <sigh>. -Kristen
