Thanks for that link, Kim.  Very interesting.

I couldn't tell in the videos if they were riding bareback, but the still 
images show bareback clearly.

I think Paso Finos *can* pace, but not that it's a gait that they emphasize. 
The "use" of the horse is more functional, I believe.
