I've heard this type of comment before and I'm always reminded of the
time, someone emailed me a blog of someone showing their herd of
horses in Iceland (perhaps it even was forwarded to this list...I
can't recall)....

Anyway, there was a lovely group of youngsters standing around her,
and she pointed to the chestnut and said "that one will be eaten."
Wow...he looked just like Dagur. I think it was because he was
chestnut, not because of any gait deficiences. It wasn't explained.

Then she pointed to a group of horses off in the distance, and
remarked how she had the white mare in training, and you could tell
the mare didn't want anything to do with her and actually looked a bit
lame and stiff in the back end as she was travelling over some rough
ground.

I think I would much rather have my herd arguing with each other about
whose turn it was to put the bridle on.

There are different methods of riding and training everywhere though.
I've had one import that was an absolute devil to catch...and one that
was an absolute gem. So there are good trainers and bad trainers
everywhere...
