Hi Everyone! :) My name's Dee. I've been a lurker here for a few days, enjoying all the banter, and especially the pictures. I'm an 36 year old Animal Science student at Uconn and I'm doing a presentation on Icelandic horses. My part is about the economics of Icelandics. But, Judy's question got me thinking; I have a theory on the 'why' of this. When a horse is under 14 hands, people think 'Pony' and then 'Kids'. The same way when they hear 'That movie is PG' they think 'so it must be for kids'. Despite all the beautiful pictures of adults (tall men, too) riding these magnificent horses -- I suspect that marketers are trying to avoid the "It's only a horse I can buy for my kids" demographic, so they're fudging the numbers and/or buying platform horseshoes, I guess. :) (Now that's a mental image...) -Dee Dreslough
