Man, I can't imagine having that much snow for extended periods.  We've had 
snow on the ground as long as a week a few times in my life.  It's not uncommon 
for us to have snow accumulation here that lasts for 2-3 days.  ONCE, I can 
remember having a snow/ice storm that was so bad, followed by VERY cold weather 
that we had accumulation (about 18") that lasted over three weeks.   This year, 
our one (so far - we could still get more...) snow, about 3-4" started melting 
the afternoon after it fell in the morning, but there were a few snow patches 
left for about 36 hours.  

Pray for Cary if he ever has to live with me with so much cold and snow/ice.  I 
get cabin fever in our winters - I don't think I'd make it through your kind of 
weather.
