The joys of owning a gaited horse...:) Actually, she's probably TRYING to
trot like you want her to, but she's defaulting back to what's easier for
her - that would be my guess.

While, I think there are advantages to horses trotting, if it's difficult
for the horse to trot, I would never push it too much.  I'd never MAKE a
horse trot, or even foxtrot for that matter.  To me, that's just as bad as
forcing a three-gaited horse to "tolt." However, it looks like she isn't
having too much trouble doing her little mixed broken trot/foxtrot/trot
thing, and honestly, I doubt many people, besides us "gait purists" would
ever notice, or care.  Much more important to me is that they look like a
happy pair, they are able to do their "job" and both look focused, but
relaxed.  I'd be proud to "own" both of them.  :)
