Oh my, Karen, they are doing SO well. They had never been offthte lovely Oregon ranch where they were raised. There were no shelters there, and it was on a pretty exposed rolling hillside.
We love that they decided right away that the hall of the barn was a very nice place. indeed We don't put them in stalls at night as I do the two geldings, but they choose to hang out at the barn when the weather is nasty. Over the years, I've had a few horses suffer terrible stress from being moved, one was an unbroke 6 year old TB mare coming from a similar situation, but (perhaps because they were moved together) Tosca and Yrsa never missed a beat and are actually more social here than they were at their original "home".
