We have been extremely fortunate in having horses hauled. Even two ponies
who were in a rear-end accident between Oregon and Florida and had to be cut
out of the van arrived safely. However, the young woman who helps us with our
kids experienced a hauling nightmare.

They shipped a Morgan gelding and an Icelandic mare from Oregon to Virginia.
The horses left Oregon in March and arrived in Virginia in August.

The hauler had asked permission to stop off at his ranch in Texas to wait for
the rest of a load going east, but they has no idea it would be that long.
The Morgan was so thin that she recognized him only by the crooked white blaze
on his face. Both animals had deep creases where their halters had apparently
been left in place the entire time.

When the family returned to Oregon, Christina hauled them coast to coast
herself.
