being on top at the time, i may have a false perspective on this.  but
it seems to me, as stjarni's personal masseuse, that loosening his
pectoral muscles gives him more freedom and lift in the front end, and
that that allows him to step further under with the hind -- if his front
feet aren't lifted out of the way in time, he can't step under with his
hind end.  a video might clarify this, but i haven't got one :/
