He was good, but geez, i dont know if he can take the excitement if we
do it again. The mares just went nuts, the stallions in the barn went
nuts, he was blowing and when they ran to the fence would try and
whirl to face them but I wouldnt let him and he would lower his head
and lick and chew, but he was very very hot and nervous, then when i
released him he did the display thing with tail flagged, running the
fence and the mares stampeded all around until I ran them into a
further pasture. Then a group of about five yearling stud colts came
from way off, I did not even know they had access to that area. It
was very cute the way they would line up and STARE, like "oh man, look
at him!" and Gallant Boy would ignore them and they would try all
manner of goofball stuff to get his attention. I didnt have my camera
of course!

When I was leading him past one mare squealed and snaked her head and
stamped at him and he called the stallion call but I gave him a snatch
and my best impression of the old man who owned him so long "heah
nah!" redneck Georgia accent for "here now" and he behaved.

I was afraid he would not want to get in my trailer to leave but he
did very willingly! THAT made me feel soooooo good. I was afraid he
would never want to leave his old home again. especially not the
mares and grass. maybe he misses his crazy donkey friend. most
likely the only animal he has ever been in with his entire life on a
regular day to day living basis. He has always been stalled alone.
