the cowlick on the underside lower neck is the shredded collar. The swirls are on the forehead or under the mane. I forget what they mean exactly, and will have to look it up. But it means different things if one swirl is on top of another, side by side, three all together etc. I will check swirls tonight. If you get the book dont loan it to anyone you will never get it back :) My Fox is under the category of sorta not too bright and uncomplicated but easy going and he is. In fact I would describe him as being dumber than a box of rocks but very sweet. The donkey is always making a fool of him but he doesnt care, he just has a big heart and is always agreeable. but he has a little shredded collar! Just a short one. And when I first got him and tried to ride him he reared straight up and almost fell on me. Then he would pull away from me and drag me like a water skier across the yard because he didnt want me to take him back into the round pen. But he is over that totally now! it was like he was afraid of how he was gonna be treated with me and would freak out over nothing. But now he is a very agreeable guy! For one thing I think he has a very very tender mouth and short lips and bits hurt him. But I found one he likes. Janice yipie tie yie yo
