ALL horses, regardless of breed, CAN be ridden collected (backend
supporting horse's weight, hindlegs reaching under center of gravity,
back 'lifted') in any gait. Icelandic horses are ridden and schooled
incorrectly due to 'myths'. They can be ridden the same as all other
horses, but the training is much more difficult for the rider, due to
extra gaits. Therefore, nearly all of these horses are ridden in
horrible form. The icelandic competitions are ridiculous! Poor
horses.
