Hi Judy,

I did see the videos but don't remember the details. Could you post the
link again?

Do you have Alex's WWYLM DVD? It's basically a leading game, that you use
to develop advanced leading skills and eventually liberty work.

It teaches the horse to stay focused on you and to want to be with you, and
carries over into riding, which is really neat!

I used it last summer with Tibra, when she didn't want to walk down the
driveway freely. I could have easily "made" her do it, but I wanted her to
freely offer it. Many people probably would have chosen to up the phases,
and put more pressure on her, until she did as requested.

I chose to go back to the place in the training to find something that she
could do willingly, and build on that. It took awhile, but we did get down
that driveway.

The trust that develops when a horse knows that they are listened to, and
have a voice in their training, is really amazing. When I needed Tibra to
use as a lesson horse this winter, she stepped up to the plate for me big
time. I had never planned to use her for lessons, because she's such a
sensitive horse, and can be very opinionated. But she really seems to enjoy
working with me now, and I am blown away and humbled by her willingness to
help me out.

Thanks,
Mary
