Laree I hope you WILL take him to small claims court! It may be the only way to convince him to geld the horse, to see to it that it does not happen to someone else's beloved mare.
Did you miss work? Will you miss more work to move your mare, take her to the vet, etc. Extra board costs to move her? Actual costs to move her? Include any and all related expenses! Since you can't kick him where it counts, kick in the only other spot it may mean anything to him, his wallet!
