Hi Janice,

Have you taught Stonewall to lower his head under saddle? It is a calm down
behavior for most horses. It's one of the foundation behaviors that I teach
all my horses.

It is especially valuable for the nervous and excitable ones. It makes a
huge difference in their behavior, and gives them a safe place to go when
they get scared. You have to do it enough that it becomes an automatic
reflex, so they can respond to it under all circumstances. The horses
actually learn to calm themselves down after a while. It's really amazing!

It saved my neck many a time with my OTTB rehab, Skip!
