Lord I have had so many toes broke by horses. And just when I think
it wont ever happen again, I was leading FOx and some deer came
crashing thru the bushes next to the paddock and whomp he just landed
a hoof down hard on my right foot and wouldnt get off! I was shoving
and hollering but he was all high headed and snorting and wild eyed
about the deer, just glaring while they scampered off while I am
writhing around. I dont think its broke but it is dang sure bent.
And I am just now getting over a broke finger from stonewall. Jaspar
broke so many bones I cant count them all. I know he broke three toes
on my left foot twice and two on my right foot twice and then one on
my right foot. Then stonewall broke one toe on my left foot when he
was 18 months old. I am glad I had on sturdy boots! And he didnt
freak or jump around or spin or anything, he just went ALERT and took
one step, whomp, and froze, staring at the deer. I think if he had
pivoted on it I would be a goner. He finally got off it like What?!?
Oh... excuse me," and stepped away.
