>>>>Why did he start out mad?

He was OK until the mares both went to the other side of the barn. He was
tied, I was grooming him then saddling him, and he could not leave. Then I
took him around where they were to play the 7 games. I had already done the
friendly game. so we did some of the others and he would do the sideways
game but when I ask for him to made a 1/2 circle around me and start the
sideways in the other direction he would run until he hit the end of the
rope and then begin bucking. I took him out into the arena away from the
mare completely and he got worse. I finally just took the rope off the
halter and let him run and buck. I did not let him stop moving until he
would come and stand by me quietly. When he did we did the 7 games again he
did them quietly and with manners. I put the bridle on then and I had him
give his nose then whole head until he would do it with a relaxed neck. At
this point I mounted. He was fine with that.

he did not want to go. But he tolted!!!

When I took him out on the road it was very unlike his normal willing self.
He kept trying to go back to the mares.

Hi Sherrell, this is very interesting. Is he sore at all today?

I just went out to the barn and I went over him and he does not give me any
sign that he is sore. But he is so stoic that he seldom give signs that he
is. But he seems to move ok.
