Hi Janice: After we got this place here in Kentucky tamed (old house made livable, fences built, etc.) I went to Iceland in 1980 to learn more about the horses. Then I returned here and started looking for Icelandic horses. I had assumed that wonderful horses like that would be popular here too. HA! No one I talked to even knew what they were. It took me two years talking to everyone I could think of (Icelandic Consulate, people at Icelandic Airlines, horse people etc.) to find some. Remember, we did not have internet service then. Finally someone at Icelandic Airlines told me about Elisabeth Haug in California. So I went there and bought my first three Icelanics from her in 1982. Anneliese
