with any breed, people can do like me, purchase either weanling or
young and train yourself after waiting a long time. OR, you can rehab
a cheaper problem horse. But me, I am no good at that! I can't take
a horse that bucks like a maniac or bolts or will kick you in the head
just for fun. I got nasi for the going rate of a weanling, which was
adult price of a really nice registered and well broke walking horse
in my area. And I feel good about that, that this was a good deal for
a weanling. I think even now at age 3 and unbroke I could sell him
and get a good return on my investment with him leading, ponied, will
walk up mobile home stairs etc. Tivar is probably worth a decent
amount now that karen rehabbed him and got him all calm and relaxed
and happy to be trail ridden. I can pretty much trust him in any
situation I think! he has done three really large rides, so he does
good in crowds, he will pony nasi places, he doesnt buck or bolt, he
will go into water etc. He would be marketable as a good solid
3-gaited icelandic i think. But of course if marketed he would
probably get so mad about it he would start bucking haha. I paid 2800
for my jaspar and he is the best horse in america today and if I put
him on dreamhorse I bet I could get 1800 for him easy!
The horse market is in the toilet right now!!
But I dont care, my horses are my children. Last night in the bright
moonlight i went out in the pasture to do everyone with the mars coat
king. I did Tivar first and then when I went to do nasi Tivar kept
running him and Fox off because he wanted some more mars coat king
attention. I dont know how anybody sells a horse, I would sooner cut
my leg off.
