the vet gave me a syringe marked into thirds. Told me to give one
third morning, one third evening and one third the next day. he had
been sedated heavily the night before. he cut his eye! The vet had
to snip a loose flap and sedated him. I noticed after he was gelded
he was a huge brat too! i wonder if it makes him irritable, the drug
wearing off. or if he is just MADDERN FIRE about being taken to the
vet and experiencing something scarey. I did notice tho that he would
get very sweaty with each dose of banamine and with the sedative also.
Each time I gave him the banamine I would go out and check and wet
him down so he would feel cool. I have a picture to upload when I get
my camera! It is one hour after banamine and he is leaping and
bucking thru the yard like a dang maniac! Right before tearing out
the fence. and he is absolute low man on the herd totem pole here and
what does he do? Lumbers right thru the electric wire into the
paddock of the large horses and then WHO does he decide well, I'll
just run HIM off his feed bucket...?? herd LEADER jaspar. SO he gets
his tail whooped royally and has to escape by trying to jump the fence
and getting all hung up in it.... I am just so glad his eye is ok,
and we found the culprit we think. We also found a long razor thin
cut on curlys neck and walked the whole pasture and all the paddocks
and we found a very very sharp point on a weld in the hay ring so my
husband filed it. The vet said it was miraculous the eye itself was
not compromised! yay.
