I am a little surprised you would suggest that someone you know nothing about their life situation should "breed a little" ?? Good grief. I live in an apartment for all you know! I have an ancient stallion with prunes down there, an intact virile mini donkey who beats everybody up at least once a day, and several geldings, including my 3 year old icelandic who has decided hot wire is worth the zap risk just to break into the next paddock and stand there looking smug. I have come up with many positive and creative ideas to change things for the better, many many times a day in fact. I have shared them extensively. Those who are "involved" as you say have told me people would not be interested in say, for instance, trail versatility showing, that they won't drive long distances for that. ?? I guess I could buy a mare, and pay a stud fee, and drive across country to have her bred, and feed her extra and give her supplements, and set up special fencing, a new paddock and shelter, then a foal shed, but then I would have to charge 15,000 for the offspring to break even and nobody in their right mind would pay that so I would have to take a huge loss, unless I could come up with some special marketing scheme, like how my horses come from a very special JRR Tolkien hobbit breed of icelandic horse heretofore unknown and thereby worth boatloads of money.
