Two things to consider first: the shape of the withers and the length of
the back.
What's the shape of your Icelandic's withers? Does it compare to any of the
pictures here:

Can you get a picture of your horse's back, standing from behind, similar to
the ones on that page?
How long is your horse's back? Long enough to accommodate a saddle
comfortably or is it on the short side?
