Haflinger? I was riding with some friends yesterday and we met up with
two Friesians and their riders. One of the riders was an older German
man whose brother used to fly over to Iceland to pick up Icelandics to
transport back to Germany. He said that the trend seemed to be towards
the finer-boned Icelandics, just like with Halfingers in his country.
He said when he was younger, Halflingers were 1400-1600 lbs...."little
tanks".

He was amazed at how you could put a big group of Icelandics together
with relatively little fuss among the horses. That they put 30
Icelandics together in the belly of a big DC-something plane and strung
a piece of cotton rope across the front of the "corral" and they just
stayed in there, crowded together with no fighting.
