I wonder if you could work within some already existing organization like ASPA, but have a separate fund for emergency medical care for horses. My kids are patients of Shriner's Hospital, an organization funded totally by donations. People leave their entire estates to them. It wouldn't take too many estates to start a growing fund. My grandson bought his own endurance horse, saddle, tack with money he earned mowing lawns and starting and selling a Welsh pony we gave him. His mother has mentioned how afraid she is that "something" will happen to Tali that would necessitate a decision based on their ability to pay for his treatment - you know, like a $10,000 colic surgery.
