oh. I forgot about that. Thanks for reminding me! I will do some
fun red white and blue thing tho... I can wait til Mule Day in the
fall. There is a Mule Day parade in Calvary Georgia so huge it takes
three hours for the parade to pass and its all equines, no other
parade stuff. Big horse clubs from all over come. Its a day time
parade also, a good first parade for horses altho my first time in a
parade on my jaspar, his first parade, we were gathered in a huge cow
pasture and when we filed out we were at the top of a hill looking
down on a sea of humans as far as the eye could see, just thousands
and there were babies in strollers parked right on the edge of the
pavement of the street. I broke out in a cold sweat of panic. There
was a man and wife in front of me and between them they had a three
year old child STRAPPED to a mule. I just kept thinking Jaspar would
go berserk and maim the kid strapped on the mule. But he just locked
into the mule in front of him and was so good! He is real lazy and
pacey gaited but when we got to the parade review stand with all the
judges, they made you wait til the people in front of you passed (they
were giving awards and judging entrants) so jaspar got all freaked out
wanting to go and I wouldnt let him so when they said I could go he
took off with his tail proud and all hot and prancey and hit his most
flashy stepping pace (his best gait really), and I had been up for
hours the night before braiding his mane and tail and his mane just
hung in waves and ringlets to his elbows, his tail dragging the
ground, and we came in third overall! (single horse and rider) When
they announced it at the show that afternoon, people still laugh and
tell me they were there that day, because I jumped out of my lawn
chair screaming and jumping up and down and knocked my chair over, my
ice chest and spilled it. Everyone laughed. and I didnt have a
picture! First place went to a mule dressed like a clown with a clown
wig and he actually had a red ball on his nose and long red clown
shoes attached to his feet, the rider dressed identically. Second
place went to a huge African American man all muscley like George
Foreman riding a GIANT black walking horse STALLION with silver chains
hanging all down his tail and the man was dressed like a pirate in a
blousy bright yellow satin shirt and black jeans, boots and big black
hat with a long curley yellow feather. hey I didnt mean to go on. it
just triggered a nice memory :) yeah. Mule Day I will be a viking.
And Tivar can wear his harness plume. My husband can try and walk
curly ray (our mini donkey) in a bumblebee costume that would be
cute... but the little s___ is mean as a snake.
