As I understand it, you have to have an icelandic name; and that if you tried to register Elvis from Florida, it would be rejected, as not an Icelandic name. There is an "Elvis" in Iceland (also a "Marvin"), but I think this is what prompted the decision to only use Icelandic names. Maybe the registry can be asked for clarification.
