Rolex News:

Theodore O'Connor's debut as the first pony to compete in the Rolex Kentucky
Three-Day Event aims to score one for the little guys.

The first pony to compete in the Rolex Kentucky four-star three-day event
was lying seventh after the first day of dressage.

Karen O'Connor's ride Theodore O'Connor stands just 14.1hh and combines
Thoroughbred and Arab blood - and an eighth Shetland pony.

"This sport pony, measuring in at 14.1hh, knows no size limitation to what
he can do," says Karen in her diary on the Rolex Kentucky site. "It is
really amazing to have this horse be a part of my life."

Why hasn't a pony ever competed in the Rolex since it began in 1978?

"The same reason you don't have somebody 5-4 playing on an NBA team," said
his rider, Karen O'Connor. "He is literally looking up at the jumps, where a
horse that is 10 inches taller is looking down at the jump."
