Well, never underestimate what one, or two, or a few...motivated mothers of horse-crazy daughters can make happen. :) I never saw myself as a 4H leader until suddenly I was one. Once we had our own group of like-minded souls, two moms thankfully MUCH more experienced than I was then, we were able to organize some events more to the liking of our kids - fun events that weren't so competitive. No reason you can't start some of your own mini trail classes, kid's Parelli "play days" etc... We kept busy sometimes just visiting different breed farms, going to watch different discipline events from rodeos to vaulting, getting vets come lecture on the subject du jour. And who would have ever thought that 10-13 year old girls would listen to an old farmer talk about orchard grass versus fescue, but they did...horse-crazy girls are pretty surprising sometimes ...
