What kind of backwards, illiterate hicks live in your county?! That's loony!
My favorites horsewise are:
"Bits and Bridles: Power tools for thinking riders" by Dwight Bennett
and Betsy Lynch. Hard to find b/c it's out of print, but if you
manage to find a copy, buy it!! Not only a fantastic resource, but a
very interesting read, esp. for a bit book!
Linda Kohanov's books--"Riding Between the Worlds" and "The Tao of Equus"
"Riding the Wild Side of Denali"--Miki and Julie Collins
Both of these are Icey related
"A Good Horse Has No Color"--Nancy Marie Brown
Buck Brannaman's books "The Faraway Horses" and "Believe"
I have all of these...hmm, I might have to start making time to read
them again...
