icelandics seem to do this thing other horses don't...  where they
just stand and stare quizzically, with a mild expression, but just
absolutely unwaveringly.  I used to think Nasi was retarded or
something and then began to figure out he was intently scrutinizing
whatever he was staring at.  When my husband works in the pasture
fixing a fence or something nasi stands at his shoulder and just
stares motionless at what he's doing the whole time.  Then camping
with Tivar, I slept about five feet away with the truck window down so
I could hear and see if anything went wrong and several times in the
nite i would wake and he was right there staring intently.  Then as I
watched him one time he moved and stared intently at the mare next
door and after about two minutes she squealed and kicked at him so
horses must not like to be stared at.  my other horses, if anything,
try to pretend they AREN'T staring, jaspar will even sneak looks and
pretend he doesnt care what you do.  its just interesting.
