I have the vet out to do spring shots in April and in November I have him out again to check and do teeth. I pay an extra farm call but it spreads the fees and the stress over two visits, plus the vet sees them twice a year. I also feel more comfortable that they are going into winter with the best chance of getting the most out of their hay and don't lose too much weight.
