I agree whole-heartedly, Karen.  Both of the books are more about
making a horse a better athlete and developing the proper frame and
making people better riders and better communicators.

I was recently watching a video from Iceland - On Horseback 2 by
Eyjólfur Ísólfsson.  As with anything, there were a few things I
didn't like, but he applies many of the "Dressage" type principles
from the Jane Savoie books in terms of keeping the horse even and
balanced, soft, supple, and easy on the mouth.  It was nice to see
some of the things in motion relative to the Icelandic horses, anyway.

Another note about Jane Savoie - I haven't ever met or even seen her
in person, but Tammy went to see her in St. Cloud about a month ago or
so and had a fabulous interaction with her.  Sounded quite
inspirational on many levels.
