>>>> I expect when we finally find our farm we'll probably buy more Icelandic's and a Hunter/Jumper horse if Alex becomes really serious about showing.
And there's nothing wrong with that, if that's really what's right for them and for you. By all predictions, Emily was supposed to be maybe 5'5"-5'7". We bought 16.1H Joe to be her next hunter horse, for her to move up to when she outgrew Thunder. She did show Joe some for a couple of years (while still showing Thunder too) and they did ok, but Thunder was always the horse in her heart. He still is. I think that first horse love can be hard to get over, warts and all. I still miss my Sundance sometimes. I was really glad we found Joe though - a hunter type horse, but also a very versatile and calm trail horse. We looked at a bunch of Thoroughbreds and some Appendix QH, but Joe had the temperament we wanted - even if the leopard spots looked out of place at the hunter and dressage shows. Neither Cary nor I would have been able to enjoy a hot TB as much as we did good old Joe. Karen Thomas [EMAIL PROTECTED]
