Oh boy, I can relate to this Wanda! I have one (Icelandic gelding) that somehow manages to figure out how to get out when he is allowed to be in the pasture with the other horses too. The other horses don't get out with him and we have not yet figured out where it is that he gets out.
Hot wire IS what I have in my pastures...I think he has figured out that there is just enough slack in the line that if he "ducks" and goes really fast, he just gets a quick zap and then its over. He usually doesn't get out until they have been in the pasture for a while and the choicest greenery is obviously on the other side of the fence. I hate to have to separate him from the herd, but when he gets out he then gets confined to the area where I have corral panels. Let me know if you figure out a reliable way to keep Peppy in that doesn't cost an arm and a leg Pat G., in MN
