Funny, I've heard the same said about stadium ice. I think all ice is pretty darned hard. >>> as it happens maybe two time´s in a lifetime and no training is dun several weeks before as this competions is held when we have Ice that happens to be a few day´s each winter. the last winter we had 1 competion in our area and then the Ice was gone and I live in north of Iceland Ok, then I need to figure out which of the old training videos I have that show young horses being started on ice. It might have been one by Reynir, or one by Diddi. I'm thinking Reynir, but I'm pretty sure I've seen in on more than one video. Also, that's not the version we hear from the dudes who promote the Ice Tolts - their slant is usually that "we do it all the time in Iceland so the horses are used to it. No big deal."
