I think that is right, I did mention that people around here refer to 
a lateral gait as "gaiting" (except walking), but I'm just describing 
what they call it, not really saying anything else. I do think it 
works though, I don't think anybody gets confused about what it is. I 
think that the more precise we can be about describing gaits, it's not 
going to be that exact, just nice to have several catergories, instead 
of just a few, discussions are much less confusing that way. I like 
our American terms better than Icelandic terms for gait and this is 
one reason. Another reason is that they term things like "trotty tolt" 
where it *might* be "foxtrot". "Trotty tolt" has a judgment with it, 
that the gait is not right, it "needs to be cleaned up", if we just 
call the gaits what they are, "foxtrot", "running-walk", there doesn't 
seem to be any judgement about it.
