which brings to mind another (yet another :) controversial thought---
Now I have put my extremely perfectly gaited walking horse in with
nasi... He trots and saddleracks and runningwalks at liberty, canters
too of course... prior to this I have pics of Nasi foxtrotting,
canter, and trot at liberty. Now I have seen him twice running the
fence line at a gallop with Fox, and then when Fox transitions down
into an easy gait, Nasi goes right along with him. matching exactly
beat for beat.

With "mirroring", horses will match gait with one another on a ride,
under saddle, I have experienced that countless times. I have in fact
had people tell me "I am gonna ride along with you if you don't mind,
when I ride with that horse up there my horse goes into a rough gait"
then with my jaspar I have seen well gaited horses turn pacey up
alongside him.

So I wonder if you put two gaited horses in together if they will
start mirroring gait and perhaps even lock it in. They are in with
Tivar also, who trots mostly at liberty, but Tivar is too laid back to
bolt off running the fence like Fox and nasi so he isnt a factor in
this...(now). And Stonewall, who constantly trots at liberty but
saddleracks under saddle, I have seen him saddlerack at liberty with
Fox. ALWAYS this happens transitioning down out of a full blown
gallop or canter.

anyway, interesting to think of. I know Judy is gonna ask for film :)
I reckon i need to never go out there without a camera at all times!
