My hubby and I have been looking for a place to build a farm and he
would like to settle in his home town which is about 45 minutes from
the city we live in.

Talking it over though, we've decided that we should wait for our
daughters to finish school, and at ages 8 and 11 that won't be for a
while--I don't want to do that driving in the winter. They attend a
private Christian school which they love and are doing well at so I'm
not ready to remove them from there yet.

We've been discussing ways of having the horses with us in the
meantime and so far we've come up with continuing to board in the
winter close to home which we've been doing since we got them, and
then in the spring/summer/fall bring them to the cottage.

Hubby's sister has offered that we can fence their back acres (6) at
her cottage which is walking distance from our cottage. It would
depend on the zoning and how much it would cost to clear the treed
land....and maybe it wouldn't cost as much if made a track (Paddock
Paradise) instead of pasture.

Their land connects to trails so that would be great for riding. It
sounds do-able, but it's only talk right now. Any thoughts about this
plan--suggestions/ideas/comments?
