er registered name is Comanche's Mariposa. They call
her
Posey. MFTHBA reg # is 97-59338, blue papers. Her sire
is S.W.C
Comanche, and her dam is Bobbin's Beauty by Fancy's
Dark Shadow.
The person we got her from last year had signed the
back of the
papers over, and dated it 7/2/06. It appears she had
bought her July
of 2005 from the breeder. Looks like July is a bad
time for this
horse. I don;t know MFTHBA rules to know if there
is anything else
to go with a sale, like a transfer report or paper or
anything..
this is all we got. My clients did not bother
joining MFTHBA or
transferring the FT papers. They intended to register
both her and
her sister that we bought, with SSHBEA and show them
in the SSHBEA
SPort Horse competitions. They got the sister reg
with SSHBEA
alreqdy, but I think SSHBEA asked them for a video
of Posey, and
are holding her SSHBEA papers in pending.

If there is any other paper work necessary for MFTHBA,
or if anyone
wants to reg her SSHBEA, or if there are late
registration fees for
MFTHBA or anything ,this cost is the sole
repsonsibility of the buyer
at this price.

We went up there last July to look at her for these
clients of mine.
They had started buying horses from me April of '06,
and ended up
buying 8 or so form me, and boarding them all at my
place, and paying
me to teach their 2 girls, 9 and 12, to ride. Ended up
getting Mom
and Dad a horse too, and the sister of this horse
ended up being the
horse for their 16 yr old daughjter who was afraid of
horses and had
never been on one.

The lady had Posey tied out in a roundpen when we got
there, but I
got her to ride her anyway, and got Shelia too,and the
mare has an
awesome gait and is very, very light mouthed and
responsive to leg
aides. Was pretty easy to negotiate the price down on
her. I saw her
siater in the pasture, asked about her, and ended uo
buying her too.
She is a 8 yr old mare, about 15.3 hds, and acts like
a 20 yr old
dead broke, rope horse gelding. I bought her and
Posey too. I knew
Posey would not make a good horse for the clients,
but I wanted her
to try to make a SSHBEA SPort Horse out of her. I
like(d) a little p!
$$ and vinegar in mine :)

Got her home, and she was a basket case after the 1
and 1/2 hour
drive. I put them in 2 adjoining stalls.....bad
mistake. Posey
remodled my barn into one big foaling stall in a
matter of seconds.
Got her out and put her in the roundpen, and she
started climbing the
panels like a coon dog climbing a tree. Put her
sister in there with
her and everything was hunky dory.

Had the farier out the next day.The previuos owner
professed to be
one of those barefoot people, but these horses
obviuosly had not had
hoof care in years. Both did suurprisiungly well for
the farrier. We
did leave the other one tied next to Posey as she was
shod, though.
It has taken the whole year, but we finally have their
feet on the
road to recovery.

New clients came out to see the horses, and I told
them they could
buy the other horse, but they didnt need Posey right
now. I told them
I wanted to work with her a while before we did
anythng with her.
They had a fit over looks though, and wanted to pay me
for her and
pay me to train her, since she was baorded here
anyhow.

I got the vet out the next day.( Well.July 10th) The
woman who owned
them did not have shot records nor up to date Goggins
on them. After
we got that squared away, I saddled her up and we went
to the round
pen to ride. When I would ride her along the pen
away form the
other horse, she wanted to rear up and run back. We
had a come to
Jesus meeting , and she dont do that with me no
more.. Or didnt. I
broke my back in 2 places and my arm the last week in
July last year.
( A gaited mule, not Posey). Naturally, I could not
work with horses
anymore. New owners bought a farm close to mine, and
moved all 12 (
by now) of their horeses out there. The girls tried
to ride her
over there, with out me around, and made the mistake
of riding her
away form another horse... turning her to where she
couldt see
them. She popped up in the fornt end with them, and ran
back,and that
was the last time they rode her.

I had started a cutting horse colt we raised in June
last year, a
nice 4 yr old by the last breeding AQHA son of Mr
Gunsmoke. A
trainer friend of mine, , that along with his son,
trains some of the
finest roping and cutting horse in Georgia, took him
to ride him a
few months for me to help me out. I try to send him
some business, ,
so I talked the new owners into sending Posey to him.
They rode the
snot out of her, and used her to go on trailrides with
the young cow
horses they were training. Posey will go through or
over anything you
point her at, so she was great at water crosiings,
etc. The son
rode her on these rides, and would pack a 22 or 410
and shoot
squirrles on the ride. SHe wpund never bat an eye and
he would pack
them home in her saddle bags.

So, my friend took them her back to the owners, and
the man decided
he would ride her and show her how to mind. She
reared up with him,
and he got off and cold cocked her a good one on the
jaw with his
fist. This was around December last year. The put her
in the psture
and have not fooled with her since.

They gave $3500 for the horse. I think I even gave
$2500 when I
bought her to sell to them. He told me two weeks ago
he was going
on a Hawaii cruise, and that he wanted to sell off 4-5
of the horses.
I sold the others rather quickly, but I told him he
would never get
his money back on her, unless he spent $800 a month
on me to train
her a few months, or even if he got a less expensive
trainer, he
would have to spend more to sell her. He said he
wasn't throwing good
money after bad, and to just sell her for $1000 if I
had to, but take
her to the sale before he gets back. She might not
bring %1000, I
dunno, at the sale, but I can just show him the
receipt.

However, he owes me money for looking after his place
( I charge him
so much a month to go by and check on the horses,
order feed,
vet ,and farrier, etc) Next Monday he will owe me
$400 for two weeks
over -seeing. So, I want whoever gets her to send me
$600 and Raven
the rest. I will make up the rest of his $1000 out of
my pocket.

Start the bidding at $600. Raises will be in no less
than $5
increments. Whoever has top bid at the midnight Sunday
night gets her.

I gues someone will have to cross post the bids
between this list
and NAturalTHWs.

We worm every 8 weeks, rotating wormers, and she
was worned the 1st
of July. We got her a full slate of vaccinations last
year when we
got her, and booster s for the ones that are
semi-annual, like 7 way
and West Nile. Her Coggins will expire the 10th.
Sucessfull bidder
will have to pay for that if they want one, or a
health certificate.
Vet charges 420 for each, and $35 for a farm call. so
that is $75
tops. If I have her pout for anything else soon, we
will not have to
add the farm call in there. I wil keep her for 10
days after the
auction ends, and keep working with her some. She
seems to be as
content with me as she is with another horse for some
reason. A
child can lead her with sewing thread if another horse
is with them.
Get out of site of the other horse, and she becomes a
snorting ,sqealing, rearing, blowing idiot that no
barn or fence
known to man can hold.

She is afraid of men more than women for some
reason, ecxcept me,
and responds well to a woman baby talking and cooing
at her.I do not
do such foolishness myslef. I make her life miserable
when she does
wrong, and nice qnd easy when she does good, and she
responds well to
me using that tactic.

If I had not broke my back, she would have a home
here. She has the
potential to be a champion at the cattle and timed
events, and
possibly jumping. She is too high strung to live long
 going from
sale to sale. I have been don ghtis a long time, and
 her next
home will be her last chance. I can tell. She just
needs someone who
has the time, preferably someone with no other
horses, and the know-
how to work with making her submit to them as alpha.
I cant do that
for you.. you have to do that yourself. Oh,and she
WILL be the top
mare in the pasture, I dont care if you raise Clydes. John
