That's so unfortunate.  However, I've been reading articles on equine
influenza and apparently a horse that has had the virus and appears
healthy again can still shed the virus for 9 days after all symptoms
have disappeared.

So from now on, I'm only allowing my horses in the company owners I
know and trust.
