I am just wondering if their place in the herd has anything to do with
it... I wonder because I dont want to create problems with mine.
traveller is one that only goes out with jaspar or stonewall so far.
for years. he is my husbands horse. my husband only rides with me.
No buddy sour probs so far but never took him off without jaspar or
stonewall so far. he seems ok leaving the paddock. Fox gave me fits
leaving the paddock but the evil donkey would call him and he is madly
in love with the evil donkey. donkey is boss of fox's paddock. He
would spin and drag me like a water skier back to the paddock.
Clickering was the only thing that got him more interested in me than
the donkey and now he seems ok. but once on a trail ride all the
horses went around a bend and out of sight and fox wanted to take off
and when i wouldnt let him he started popping up in the front end for
several steps which scared me since when I first got him he was a rear
and flip horse. (he only reared with me once, he cant take a severe
bit). but i hollered and everyone waited up for me.

i guess wanting to bolt when otehrs go out of sight is common, but i
think its also another type of buddy sour? How do you soothe them
when others go out of sight.
