One of Kaaren's website is www.kaarenjordan.com but there may be something about how you are using the snaffle or sidepull or how you are sitting that could be affecting the way it is working. Are you riding in a mechanical hackamore? Are your horses responding well in it? If they are and you are both happy why are you looking to change? The real downside that I see to anything with a shank and a single rein is that you have your choices about balancing the horse, you can either take contact or release. I often suggest that people use a balance rein with a single rein, even with the snaffle. You can just tie a rope loosely around the horses neck, so it won't tighten, or use an old rein.
