 I once saw a Standard w/ a corded coat at a show. It was one of the
cooles things I'd ever seen!  Of course I'd seen cording on Komondorok
and Pulik (the other corded breeds) but never on a Poodle.

They were definitely right. If you've ever seen a Greyhound run on its
own, chasing prey or at a lure field trial, they swing their tails
around like mad around a corner/turn. You never see it on the track
b/c they are basically running in a straight line.
 Even the basenjis unfurl their tails and use them for balancing around a turn.
