I have to agree, since I started my very first of my many saddle searches for a QH x Mustang. I think MOST horses are being ridden in saddles that aren't optimal fits. I haven't quite evolved to thinking that treeless is USUALLY the best solution, but I am convinced they are best for many horses and many riders. That we have so many wide and short-backed ponies in this breed, only makes our saddle dilemmas more obvious, but we certainly aren't alone.
