There's an elderly retired endurance horse where we board and a not-so-elderly retired school teacher next door. Joyce comes over from time to time to do spa days for Taj and some of the others. She , the woman, has struggled with depression, but the match of the old horses and the gentle care she offers is a lovely thing.
