Hi Nancy
>>>Don't you think it looks like she got jerked forward and tensed with her
feet, legs and upper body?

Maybe and that will happen even more when a person is not in neutral pelvis.
So many young rider, and older, ride with an arch in their back which causes
long term discomfort in the rider, and the horse, because of the bracing
pattern. This will also cause a rider to be pulled forward by the horse,
but the poor horse is so behind the vertical, which is sadly what is taught
by many dressage teachers in Europe.

>>>My toes are pointing out and my feet are flat

Actually that is pretty much what Peggy Cummings and also most Centered
Riding people teach. If your knees are slightly out it allows your leg to
naturally mold around the horse's belly. If you try to keep your feet
parallel to the horse and grip with the knees it is very stressful on your
knees and ankles. When we have people here at clinics and show they that
and neutral pelvis they are so relived because they no longer hurt when they
ride.
